Amazon introduced a new fee known as "Inbound Placement Service," effective March 1, 2024, potentially doubling shipment costs.

These fees are charged to sellers when sending items to Amazon's fulfillment centers, aimed at evenly distributing inventory across centers closer to customers. Amazon provides three fee management options:

1. Minimal splits: Highest fee, determined by item weight and size. Sellers can choose the region for their shipment's destination.

2. Partial splits: Similar to minimal splits but with a lower cost per item. Shipments are split among up to three locations.

3. Amazon optimized shipment splits: Splits shipments into four or more locations, exempting sellers from fees, even when using Amazon Seller Central.

To avoid fees, ensure your settings are configured for "Amazon-optimized shipment splits". Please follow the instructions below to update your settings in Seller Central.

Step 1. Go to settings and select Fulfillment by Amazon.
