Why are the quantities on Seller Central different than what I was shown on Seller Chain?

In this brief overview, we will discuss the occasional occurrence of quantity discrepancies between the Seller Chain and the finalized shipment on Seller Central. Although these discrepancies are infrequent, these disparities merit closer examination to better understand the factors involved. Read on to gain a clearer understanding of this phenomenon.

Please note that shipment plans may not always be perfect. We try to get the numbers right and we make adjustments within the allowed limits where necessary.

For instance, quantities can be adjusted within Amazon's capacity limit of 5% or 6 units, whichever is greater. If the quantity is below 120, the limit is 6 units, and if it is above 120, the limit is 5%, as shown in the example below.


There are times when these automatic adjustments fail, leading to a discrepancy. The primary reason for this is capacity overages, where the marketplace capacity has exceeded after the shipment was created, preventing further adjustments. (See the illustrations below.)
